The official opening of the green took place on Saturday 2nd September under sunny skies at Oakleigh Bowling Club. The Lord Mayor Tina Samardzija, and Councillor Theo Zographos attended to open the greens.

Following the official opening, a delicious lunch was enjoyed by members and guests, before commencing practice for the upcoming pennant season. It was pleasing to see so many members attend and a special mention was made for two of our life members in attendance, Marg and Mona.
We are hopeful for an exciting and successful season for all our teams.

Opening of Oakleigh Bowling Club New Green
Oakleigh Bowling Club is excited to announce the official opening of its new Synthetic Green on Saturday 27 May. The green was formally opened by the Club’s local State and Federal Government representatives Stephen Dimopoulos Victoria’s Minister for Creative Industries and Clare O’Neil Honorary Federal Minister for Home Affairs and Cyber Security . The Victorian State Government was the major contributor to the funding required and the Club is extremely grateful.
The new “All Weather/All Purpose” synthetic green will attract more people to lawn bowls and therefore awareness of our “community programs” and community based facilities. The synthetic green can be used every day of the year and offers far greater opportunities for the local community to enjoy the game of Lawn Bowls.
Oakleigh Bowling Club invites all members of the community to visit our wonderful Club and enjoy these fabulous new facilities.

New Synthetic Green Completed
The new synthetic green has now been completed and the members are enjoying their practice games on it. There will be an official opening of the green on May 27th with dignitaries and members coming together for the celebration. An exciting time for the Oakleigh Bowling Club .
State Government Grant Announcement
Oakleigh Bowling Club is excited to announce that we have received State Govt funding for the construction of a new Synthetic Green in the coming months. This will help us to provide even more options to the local community and help our Club become a more vibrant community member. We would like to thank the State Government and in particular our local member Steve Dimopoulos for their assistance and foresight.
New Green is Underway
The Oakleigh Bowling Club new synthetic green works has commenced and there is a sense of excitement around the club as we watch the progress. The old green has been dug up and the preparation well underway around the surface works required. Work will resume on the 16th January.
