Congratulations to Joyce Watts for a stunning victory in the Ladies Singles for the third year running. It was a long game and Heather Topp wasn’t going to hand her the spoils easily, but Joyce’s now-familiar determination and focus won her the day.
Over on the mens’ rink, Ron Peng had a grin like a face full of marbles as slowly, but surely, he pulled away from first-year player John Davis to win the Mens’ crown for the first time.
Up on the deck, you had to be early to snare a seat rink-side, as it gave a brilliant view across to the two matches. It was hard to know which game to applaud.
